In 2010 Tarmac Building Products made a £45k investment in an ILM accredited programme for 20 managers, which equated to £1,750 per manager.
As a direct result of the accredited programme, consisting of a Foundation stage, 5 x 2 day modules spread over 9 months and assigned 'work-based assignments; - ensuring each manager applied the learning to specific business applications - a £1,600,000+ tangible, commercial gain has been measured that has been thoroughly analysed and attributed to the programme we delivered.
Over the last ten years, various divisions and categories of Unilever (including Flora, Walls, personal care division, household division, finance and operations) have commissioned programmes to be delivered throughout Europe.
Unilever Italia, for example, committed to a strategic programme for the marketing team(s) spread throughout Europe. These programmes were delivered in both the classroom and outdoor formats in Italy and the UK. The household division of the Unilever organisation went from a below-target position, to winning the prestigious 'Unilever Growth Award' for 2008 and 2009!
The corporate and retentions departments commissioned a series of professional customer care, up-selling, negotiation skills, team leader development and facilitation skills. Subsequently, the aged debts have shrunk significantly and the conversion rates have soared. In fact, one team had a 63% level increase to over 90% since we commenced the programmes.
