Business Coaching and Mentoring for Managers

Managers who struggle to find enough time already will find it difficult to attend a management training course

For busy managers struggling to find enough hours in the day as it is to run their business, taking a few days out to attend classroom-based management training courses is simply out of the question. Also, they are unlikely to want to eat into their already minimal free time outside of work to do an online management course, particularly if their job role already includes lots of staring at a computer screen.

Because of this, managers are increasingly looking towards business coaching or executive coaching in order to develop their managerial skills, overcome barriers preventing progress and achieve defined goals and objectives. Instead of taking up whole days, coaching sessions can be done in short sessions at various intervals, such as one or two hours a week, allowing the manager to fit it around their day-to-day responsibilities.

The Benefits of an External Business Coach

Talking to a business coach who is outside of the company will give the manager an impartial person to discuss issues with, safe from the fear of upsetting employees or the matters being leaked to other staff members. The coach will work with the manager to determine their goals and management objectives, along with what is currently holding them back and preventing the achievement of them. Developing the person's change management skills will also help if the organisation or particular department is undergoing major changes or upheaval.

The best way to ensure that the coaching is tailored to the correct level for the individual concerned is to use an accredited business coaching organisation whose coaches have been assessed to ensure the provision of coaching meets and exceeds required standards. We are accredited by the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) and have provided business coaching to managers at organisations of all sizes through 1-to-1 executive coaching.
