This course covers both the theoretical aspect of leadership and motivation, as well as providing the delegate with the practical skills necessary to undertake the role of leader and motivator in a modern business environment. The course is suitable for any experienced manager or supervisor who wishes to review, consolidate and enhance their motivational and leadership techniques and styles.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

Explain the different approaches and styles of leadership
Identify where and when it is appropriate to use the different styles
Review and enhance their problem solving and decision making skills
Understand how effective teams are created, developed and managed in the modern working environment
Develop practical ways to motivate their teams
Use a range of leadership and behaviour styles back in the workplace

Module four - Building and managing a team

Module five - Motivational skills

What is motivation?
How are we motivated?
What can we do to motivate and de-motivate individuals
The principles of effective motivation
Motivational theories
